Some words from our club Secretary

Mercia CC

Please see the end of year report from Tony..

Secretary’s News for December 2015The annual diner and prize presentation will be held on February 20th at Egginton Village Hall with the food prepared by the excellent caterers who have been used for the last two dinners. We will be issuing the invitation to apply for tickets and pay the 2016 subs very shortly.

2016 club time trial planning is in hand and all club events will be on the Anslow course except the 25 championship which will be held on the Etwall course in a South Pennine club event. Please note that some of our mid-season club events will revert to a start time of 7.30 – check the list when it is issued.

Re starting on Wednesday 6th January will be the weekly turbo coaching with Dave Clarke at Queen Street community centre.. There will be a charge of £3 for each session. These sessions are an excellent for sharpening early season fitness – do not miss them.

The Sunday rides will continue from the Town Hall at 9.15 and if we can find enough run leaders we will try to add a fourth beginner’s ride. To assist the leader can I suggest that everyone carries ID and contact details which we can use in the event of any unfortunate incident?

For club clothing please contact James at Lloyds Cycles and discuss your requirements with him. The current clothing will not change for 2016 and James at Lloyds Cycles will be holding popular items in stock. As members you are given a 10% discount on your cycling needs by Lloyds who are continuing to sponsor the club so do try to support them. At Lloyds you can speak to club cyclists who race bikes themselves – get the best advice – use them!

Best wishes and a safe and healthy 2016 I look forward to meeting you at our events Tony
