Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles Report 24.10.19

Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles report 24.10.19.

Round 4 of the Notts Derby Cyclo Cross League took place at Bingham School, Notts hosted by VC Nottingham. The course, on the school playing fields, offers good cyclo cross terrain and as ever featured the very slippery off camber banks which proved to be unrideable for the vast majority of riders

In the Under 12 category Daniel Ward represented Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles, as ever he rode a fierce race always in contention at the forefront battling with the leaders. At halfway point two riders broke away and were not to be caught, despite losing two places on the last lap Ward crossed the line in a fine 7th place. Jacob Steed of Sherwood Pines Cycles Forme was again the winner.

In the Veteran classes, Pascal Arnoux of Zepnat RT-Lazer Helmets was 9th place in the V50 class behind his team mate Pete Middleton. Whilst Mercia’s Adrian Waters was first in the V70’s.

The following day in the West Midlands League at Newport, Shropshire, the course was very much dryer than the previous week and Daniel Ward was again always in the leading pack of 6 or 7 riders. George Cooper of Sherwood Pines Cycles – Forme was the winner with Ward in 4th place a position which takes him into second place in the league.
