The Ken Goy memorial 32 mile ride

 

 

 

 

Start in the Henhurst Club car park and proceed to the main road to turn right towards Abbots Bromley.

 

.06 mile: Turn left into Postern Road at the Acorn Inn and proceed to Barton under Needwood

4.40 miles: In Barton Turn left and proceed to Walton on Trent.

6.30 miles: In Walton Turn Right signpost Catton/Croxall and proceed to the T junction with the Alrewas – Tamworth Road.

9.90 miles: Turn Right at the T junction and proceed under the rail bridge to a traffic island in a quarter mile where turn left on to an unclassified road which is part of National Cycle Route 54.

Follow route 54 to a white gate at 12.00 miles where turn right and proceed across the level crossing.

12.30 miles: Turn right signposted Burton/Fradley and proceed to T junction in Fradley.( if you arrive at the A38 you have missed the turn)

12.90 miles: At T Turn left signposted Kings Bromley and after taking the second exit at a small traffic island arrive at the bridge over the canal at Fradley Junction.

 

This is at 14.10 miles and there are 2 cafés at Fradley Junction, one on each side of the canal should you wish to make a café stop.

 

The remaining mileages assume that no café stop was made:

 

Continue straight across the canal bridge to the T junction.

15.20 miles: At T Turn left towards Kings Bromley to T junction with the A515 road

At the T turn left towards Lichfield

17.40 miles: Turn right towards Rugeley to the T Junction with B5014

19.10 miles: At T Turn right towards Abbotts Bromley and in half mile turn right signposted Pipe Ridware.

Go straight through Pipe Ridware keeping right towards Hamstall Ridware.

21.50 miles: In Hamstall Ridware turn right signposted Morrey/Yoxall/Burton

22.80 miles: Turn left with care into Morrey Lane before the farm buildings

23.80 miles: After a left hand bend turn right signposted Dunstall

24.30 miles: At junction take the second left signposted Newborough and proceed past the Meynell Ingram pub

26.30 miles: Turn right into Dolesfoot lane and proceed to the give way sign at the A515 – proceed across and in 400 yards at the T junction with the B5017 turn right towards Burton and go past St. Georges Park to the traffic island at the New Inn. Take the third exit towards Burton and at 31.50 miles turn into Wood Lane to the Henhurst club.
