Mercia Report 17-11-11

After a break of one weekend due to the inter area championships at Milton Keynes Round 9 of the Notts and Derby Cyclo Cross League resumed at Sinfin Moor, Derby in pretty muddy conditions, which made it hard for everyone. In the under 12’s race Elliott Waters (Plan B) finished in 13th position out of 48 riders. The winner was John Webster (Matlock CC). Joshua Waters again finished 2nd to William Gascoyne (Heanor Clarion) and Bailey Waters finished in 13th place. 39 riders finished the race.

In the 50 minutes race for Seniors, Juniors, Ladies and Veterans there were 3 local riders who finished the race. Justin Waters (Mercia HBM CC) was 82nd, Simon Dunsby (PlanB) was 88th and Adrian Waters (Mercia HBM CC) 136th. The winner was Andrew Naylor (Ashfield RC) 144 riders finished the race.

The following day Joshua and Bailey Waters travelled all the way down to Southampton to compete in the under14’s race in round 3 of the National Trophy Races. Joshua finished in the top ten in 9th place. Bailey was 19th Daniel Tullet (Hargrove’s Cycles) won the race.
