National Forest Randonnees

National Forest randonnees 5 September 2010 are on again

Randonnees, also known as Audax rides, offer a challenge to cycle over a set distance within a time limit. With generous time limits they can be ridden by all abilities, touring or sporting. Mercia HBM Cycling Club is organising a 100km from Moira village hall, centre of the National Forest, on Sunday 5 September.

The Camelia and Canal Bridges 100km event heads south to the Camelia Cafe at Nether Whitacre Garden Centre by Coleshill, then North East to the Ashby Canal top side of Hinckley, then back to Moira, a triangular route in rural North Warwickshire and Leicestershire - see the canal again and again. The route: Clifton Campville, Wood End, Nether Whitacre, Baxterley, Sibson, Sutton Cheney, Congerstone, No Mans Heath, Moira. Entry forms from calendar at www.audax.uk.net . Last entries by 2/9/10. For a longer ride there is the 200km East Midlands Forests randonnee on the same day organised by CTC East Midlands. The route: Charnwood, Barrow on Soar, Landyke Lakes, Asfordby. Rockingham, Blatherwycke, Caldecott, Wistow, Desford, Moira.
