Mercia HBM riders take part in local Reliability Trials


The last two weekends saw Mercia HBM Cyclists supporting two local Reliability Trials. The first one was Cycling Club Giro's 17 mile circuit from the Rosliston Forestry Centre. The circuit took the riders through Coton in The Elms, Edingale, Harlaston & Clifton Campville to No Man's Heath then on through Chilcote Netherseal & Grangewood to Coton in the Elms again & back to Rosliston. Riders doing three laps in 3hrs were Keith Staley, Phil Machin, Simon Parker,Paul Ironside, Roger Owen & Matt Simons. Those riders who completed two laps in 2hrs were Nick Marriott, Jeff Lea, Ben Startin, Derrick Baker, Mark Eccleston & Mark Davies.

The following weekend Burton's Plan B Racing Club. Held 100 & 50 kilometre Reliability Trials covering a circuit of 50 kilometres. That again started at Rosliston Forestry Centre. The trial went through Drakelow. Walton, Whittington, Elford, Harleston & Clifton Campville to No Man's Heath. Then returned to The Forestry Centre via Chilcote, Netherseale, Grangewood & Botany Bay. The riders completing the 100 kilometres in 4hrs were Roger Owen, Simon Parker, Phil Machin, Paul Ironside, Ben Startin & Keith Staley. Riders doing the 50 kilometres were Ken Goy, Geoff Slinn, Jeff Lea, Nick Marriott, Mark Eccleston, Keiron Patterson & Mark Davies all within 2hrs. Peter Rose completed it in 2.75hrs. .
