Annual Reliability Trials over 100 & 50 kilometresThere were seventy riders in total in the Mercia HBM Annual Reliability Trials
The 100km hilly route was via Bramshall, Milwich, Sandon to Stafford over then Cannock Chase to Rugeley, then returning to Burton via Blithfield Reservoir & Abbot's Bromley.
Local riders qualifying in four & half hours were Keith Staley,Phil Machin, Paul Ironside, Roger Owen & Simon Parker Mercia HBM CC. Sean Sleigh, Neil Sleigh, Alistaire Staley, John Brewin, Kevin Potter, Daniel Davis & Lewis Cowley Plan B RC. Ben Startin Burton CTC. Chris Wells, Abi Norman & Christian Aucote unattached.
The 50km route which went via Six Lane Ends, Kingstone, Blithfield Reservoir, Abbott's Bromley & The Scotch Hills, saw all of the following riders qualifying in 3 hrs. Jeff Lea, Jeff Slinn, Adrian Waters, Justin Waters, Joshua Waters, Mark Eccleston, Derrick Baker, Ken Goy, Mark Ward, Andrew Wendle, Colin Johnson, Alec Taylor, Phil Jones & Mark Davies all Mercia HBM CC. Nathan Hughes, Mick Skivington, Daniel Partington, & Ann Staley. Plan B RC. Phil Hadland & Bob Guest of Burton CTC.
