Latest Results in Notts & Derby Cyclo Cross League & Peter Rose finishes first in the evening handicap points competition


The Notts & Derby Cyclo Cross League held two recent cyclo crosses. The first was held at Darley Moor near Ashbourne. In the under 10's there was a reversal of positions as 8 year old Elliot Waters beat his 9 year old brother Bailey finishing 13th & 18th respectively. Scott Hookway (Sherwood CC) was the winner. In the under 12's Joshua Waters was 5th The winner was Arthur Green (Matlock CC). In the Senior race Matt Simons finished 69th on his heavy mountain bike. Justin Waters finished 85Th. There were 99 finishers. Heanor Clarion's Rob Parkin was the winner.

The following weeks cyclo cross was held at Trent Meadows in Long Eaton. In the under 10's positions were reversed from the previous week with Bailey 4th & Elliot 11th. On a new ridable course devoid of mud. Scott Hookway was again the winner. Joshua Waters was 6th in the under 12's finishing just behind the 4th & 5th riders. It was a very tight finish with Arthur Green out sprinting Charlotte Broughton (Leicester Off Road Club) for first place.

The 10 mile evening time trial handicap series was won by Mercia HBM Press Secretary Peter Rose with 28 points. Second was Mark Eccleston with 26 points & third was Ivor James with 25 points. The following riders & points were as follows:

Phil Knott 23, Simon Parker 23, Adrian Waters 22, Keith Staley 21,Colin Johnson 13, Steve Plummer 12, Mark Ward 10, Tony Marlow 10, Jeff Lea 9, Alec Taylor 8, Mark Sheffield 8, Noel Adams 6, Richard Knott 3 & Andrew Wendle 2.
