FOUR RIDERS SUPPORT CHRISTMAS TIME-TRIAL
The Annual Manchester & District Time Trial Association Christmas 10 mile event was supported by four local riders at Byley in Cheshire. On the competitive side Ann Staley (Plan B R.C.) was the fastest lady in 31:43. Roger Owen timed 30:44 The winning time of 23:40 was done by ex-champion rower Tristan Barnes (Will’s Wheels). In the Christmas Fancy dress event Les Lowe & Greta Spires were in the prizes on their tandem tricycle dressed to the theme “Fleeing from Herod”.
David Clarke (Team Nippo KFS) finished 19th in the Senior Midland Area Cyclo-cross Championship held at the Hagley Park Sports Centre at Rugeley. Clarke was 7 minutes behind the winner Daniel Booth (Pedal Power R.T.) over 12 miles.
